Trip To Alor Setar And Hatyai

The Inner Wheel Club of Kuala Lumpur (IWCKL) kicked off the Year of the Snake with a bang, or rather, a “choo-choo!” as 25 vibrant ladies all clad in their bright yellow IWCKL t-shirts boarded the Electric Train Service (ETS) at KL Sentral, bound for Alor Setar. The air buzzed with excitement as the stylish squad, armed with laughter and weekend bags, settled into their plush seats. Destination: fun, friendship, and maybe a little bit of friendly competition!

Upon arrival at Alor Star station, IWCKL ladies were greeted with warm smiles and open arms by the President of Inner Wheel (IWC) Alor Star, Dr. Rosni and Aini. The welcome was as bright as the Alor Star sunshine, setting the tone for a truly memorable weekend. After a quick check-in at the hotel, it was time to unleash their inner bowling champions! The bowling alley echoed with cheers and playful banter as three teams from Alor Star and two from IWCKL battled it out. Let’s just say the real victory was in the shared laughter and the forging of new bonds.

As the sun began to set, the rooftop of the hotel was transformed into a vibrant Chinese New Year celebration with everyone dressed in red, gathered for a feast under the stars with exchange of bannerettes between the Presidents of IWCKL and IWC Alor Star. As the night was still young, everyone was entertained by karaoke singers from both clubs and members dancing away through the night.

The next morning, after a hearty breakfast, the adventure continued! This time, the destination was Hatyai, Thailand on a tour bus. Adding to the excitement, four wonderful members from IWC Alor Star, President Dr Rosni, Padmini, Aini and Shan, joined the IWCKL ladies, making the journey even more special.

For the next three days and two nights, Hatyai became their playground. The bustling streets were filled with the sound of happy chatters as the ladies explored markets, savoured local delicacies, and indulged in some well-deserved retail therapy. From mouth-watering street food to vibrant night markets, Hatyai delivered an unforgettable experience.

As the time came to bid farewell to Hatyai, the ladies boarded the bus back to Padang Besar, their bags overflowing with souvenirs and their hearts overflowing with memories. The final leg of the journey was a smooth ride on the electric train service (ETS) back to Kuala Lumpur. The IWCKL ladies returned home, not just with full bags and potentially a few extra pounds from all the delicious food, but with a renewed sense of sisterhood and a treasure trove of stories to share. IWCKL members extend their heartfelt gratitude to the Inner Wheel Club of Alor Star, especially President Dr. Rosni, Padmini, Aini, and Shan, for their warm hospitality and for making the Hatyai adventure truly unforgettable.
