Tea With International Inner Wheel President Mamta Gupta
The National Cancer Society of Malaysia (NCSM) was the vibrant setting for a meaningful gathering today, as the Inner Wheel Club of Subang Selangor (IWCSS) graciously hosted a special tea with International Inner Wheel President Mamta Gupta. This event, deeply intertwined with the impactful collaboration work of the Inner Wheel Club of Kuala Lumpur (IWCKL) with NCSM, shone a spotlight on their crucial role in the fight against cervical cancer.
The arrival of President Mamta Gupta, ignited a palpable sense of excitement among the assembled Inner Wheel members. IWCSS President Rani warmly welcomed the distinguished guest and attendees, setting the stage for an afternoon dedicated to celebrating collaborative achievements.
Dato’ Dr Saunthari Somasundaram, President of NCSM, delivered a powerful appreciation address, placing particular emphasis on the remarkable contributions of International Inner Wheel Club unwavering dedication towards cervical cancer prevention. She further highlighted IWCKL’s efforts, especially in extending HPV vaccination access to rural communities.
Dr. Jason Chin from NCSM further underscored the importance of HPV vaccinations, providing a compelling presentation on their life-saving potential. He acknowledged the significant impact of collaborations like the one with IWCKL in boosting vaccination rates in remote areas which supported NCSM’s mission and their tagline, “Leaving no one behind”. Cancer survivor Suri Hanim shared her poignant testimony battling cancer that served as a powerful reminder of the impact work done by NCSM and also Pink Unity.
The afternoon ended with a delightful tea session filled with joyful conversation and fellowship, as members from various clubs shared their experiences and connected with President Mamta Gupta on her first day arriving in Malaysia.
