Celebration Of Leadership, Legacy, And The Spirit Of Inner Wheel

March 2024 was a month of profound significance for the Inner Wheel Club of Alor Setar (IWC AS) as two members, Ishka and Padmini, attended two remarkable events, each celebrating leadership, service, and the unyielding bond of friendship that defines Inner Wheel.

The journey began on 7 March, when Padmini and Ishka joined fellow members of District 330 in Ipoh to welcome International Inner Wheel (IIW) President Mamta Gupta to Malaysia.

As President Mamta entered the hall, admiration filled the air, followed by resounding applause. The evening unfolded with the symbolic lighting of the Candle of Friendship, poem recital, and loyal toasts. When President Mamta took the stage, her speech left an indelible mark, reminding everyone of the power of unity and the impact of their collective efforts. The celebration continued with a delightful high tea and a special photo session, where IWC AS had the chance to capture a treasured moment with President Mamta.

On 8 March, the spirit of celebration carried into Kuala Lumpur, where a glittering gala dinner in honour of International Women’s Day (IWD) was held. Under the shimmering lights, Inner Wheel members came together, to celebrate both the presence of IIW President Mamta and the momentous IWD.

One of the evening’s highlights was the Legacy Awards, a tribute to members whose dedication has elevated Inner Wheel to new heights. Among the five awardees was Padmini, who has been instrumental in shaping the IWC AS’ identity and influence since its founding in 2018. Celebrating the well-deserved recognition of the five awardees was a moment of pride.

As the celebrations drew to a close, there was a shared understanding among all who attended - Inner Wheel is in the hands of extraordinary women, and every beat of service truly counts, just like every heartbeat of humanity.
