Celebrating Women, Culture, and Leadership – IIW President Mamta Gupta’s Visit to Malaysia
On March 8, 2025, the Inner Wheel District 330 hosted a spectacular gala night at the Eastin Hotel, an evening filled with color, culture, and celebration in honour of International Women’s Day. The event welcomed the distinguished International Inner Wheel (IIW) President Mamta Gupta and was themed “Malaysian Diversity and Heritage,” reflecting the rich multicultural tapestry of Inner Wheel’s members in Malaysia.
It began with an engaging Q&A session with the IIWC President Mamta Gupta, facilitated by Vice District Chairman Jilian Estrop, wherein eight members from various districts raised questions. Thereafter, the clubs had the opportunity to take group photos with the esteemed guests including IIWBD Juanita Lee, NR Shanti Menon, and DC Vimalavathi.
The night kicked off with a breathtaking showcase of traditional performances: a lively Chinese lion dance, the rhythmic beats of a Malay zikir barat, the grace of a fan dance, and an energetic Indian Bollywood number. Each performance paid homage to the diverse cultural roots of the Inner Wheel community, setting the stage for a truly memorable evening.
The celebration wasn’t just about entertainment — it was a moment to honor the incredible women driving Inner Wheel’s mission forward. Five outstanding women from District 330 were recognized for their dedication, commitment, and exceptional contributions to the organization. These trailblazers, through their passion and tireless efforts, have kept the Inner Wheel spirit alive and thriving.
In her address, President Mamta Gupta inspired the audience with her vision and exemplary leadership. Her words were a powerful reminder of the importance of walking the talk — leading by example and making a meaningful impact through service and friendship.
Kudos to District ISO Merlin and her team for organizing such a flawless and heartfelt event. The evening was a perfect balance of celebration and reflection, offering members from Malaysia, Singapore, and East Malaysia the chance to reconnect, forge new friendships, and reaffirm their shared mission.
As the night drew to a close, there was a collective sense of gratitude — for the opportunity to be part of a global sisterhood united by service and love. Here’s to the incredible women of Inner Wheel, the heartbeat of humanity, and the inspiring journey ahead.
