Know your Gut Health
Monthly meetings at IWCSS are administrative and revolves around discussions on projects, installation, finance, member recruitment etc. But every now and then members feel that a talk by an external provider on health, money, wellness or a lesson in arts and crafts breaks the monotony and adds an interesting aspect to the meet.
At the GM on 19th April, in the beautiful and elegant ‘Tasty Chapathi Restaurant” meeting room, President Rani completed formal matters quickly to allow time for Dr Shanthi Krishnasamy to talk about Gut Health a topic of serious concern.
It was a very interactive session, and members had several questions regarding fatty liver, lactose intolerance, digestive issues, irritable bowel etc. Many of us live with several of these conditions and go about our lives, only popping in to see the doctor when symptoms get worse. Dr Shanthi focused on how we could safeguard our gut health by being very aware of our unique digestive system, and proactively feeding it the right food to improve the gut microbiome.
