Raya Celebration The Iwckl Raya Gaya Style
Dewan Berjaya at the Bukit Kiara Equestrian Club was transformed into a kaleidoscope of vibrant colours and joyous laughter today, 21st April 2025, as The Inner Wheel Club of Kuala Lumpur (IWCKL) celebrated their annual Hari Raya Fellowship. Hosted with warmth and flair by the club’s Muslim members, the “Raya Gaya” theme truly came to life as every member graced the occasion in their most exquisite Raya attire.
The afternoon commenced with the arrival of our beloved Honorary Member, YAB Toh Puan Dr Aishah Ong, followed by YB Tan Sri Dr Sharifah Habsah Shahbuddin, President of National Council of Women’s Organisation (NCWO) and finally by the much-awaited arrival of our Royal Patron, DYMM Tuanku Ampuan Besar of Negeri Sembilan. We were all very touched with the desserts presented by DYMM Tuanku, which were extremely delectable.
We were also privileged to have as our esteemed guests, PKK Puan Kesumawati Ilas and her two aides . Pn Kesumawati oversees the Women’s Wing of Kajang Prison. This will be our Hari Raya Project ,and a visit to this high- security facility is upcoming soon.
Then the ever-graceful Master of Ceremony, Tunku Maziah, began the occasion with a heartfelt welcome to all the honoured guests and cherished members. Her warm words set a convivial tone for the afternoon, paving the way for a brief yet inspiring address by President Lena. President Lena eloquently highlighted the spirit of unity and togetherness that defines IWCKL, emphasizing the projects achieved so far by the Club.
Tunku Maziah then took everyone on a nostalgic journey down memory lane with a captivating slideshow. Through poignant images, she beautifully illustrated the evolution indispensable items used from the “Baby Boomers” till today sparking fond memories of Hari Raya celebrations across generations, sparking fond memories and a sense of shared heritage amongst the attendees.
The aroma of tantalizing Hari Raya delicacies soon filled the air as a sumptuous buffet lunch was served. Members and guests alike savoured the rich flavours and diverse spread, a true testament to the culinary traditions of the festive season. Conversations flowed freely as everyone enjoyed the delicious feast and the company of their fellow Inner Wheel sisters.
The afternoon’s festivities continued with delightful renditions of songs by IIWPBD Datin Ainol and Tunku Maziah, filling the hall with melodious cheer. Adding another layer of vibrancy, some members gracefully took to the floor, showcasing captivating traditional dances that further amplified the joyous atmosphere.
As the afternoon drew to a close, the energy remained high. The celebration culminated with a photo session, capturing the radiant smiles and stunning “Raya Gaya” ensembles. The infectious rhythm of the band then took over, with many members joyfully dancing and celebrating the spirit of Hari Raya.
The IWCKL Hari Raya Fellowship was undoubtedly a resounding success, leaving everyone with hearts full of joy and stomachs equally satisfied. It was a beautiful testament to the club’s strong bonds of friendship, cultural appreciation, and the vibrant spirit of its members. The “Raya Gaya” celebration will surely be remembered as a day filled with warmth, laughter, and the true essence of Hari Raya.
