Kidney Foundation Project


On 21st August 2025, the Inner Wheel Club of Kuala Lumpur launched another meaningful initiative with the donation of 180,000 pairs of medical gloves to the National Kidney Foundation of Malaysia. The occasion was graced by YABhg Toh Puan Dato Seri Dr. Aishah Ong as Guest of Honour, together with NKF Chief Executive Officer, Mr. Choo Kok Ming.

The donation will support some of NKF’s 35 dialysis centres nationwide, helping to ease the burden on healthcare frontliners, ensuring better protection, hygiene, and safety for both caregivers and patients.

During the launch, NKF’s CEO shared a comprehensive overview of the Foundation’s operations, outlining its mission to provide affordable dialysis, patient care, and community support, and the criteria for selecting patients eligible for subsidised or free treatment, with priority given to the B40 group and underprivileged communities most in need.

President Pang Yoke Ling emphasized that the contribution reflects IWCKL’s continued commitment to healthcare and community service. It stands as more than just medical supplies – it is a gesture of solidarity and care, in recognition of the invaluable work carried out daily by NKF doctors, nurses, and caregivers in serving patients with dedication and compassion.

The occasion concluded with appreciation extended to YABhg Toh Puan Dato Seri Dr. Aishah Ong for her continued support and encouragement. IWCKL also conveyed its appreciation to the National Kidney Foundation, saluting its mission of providing affordable dialysis care and expressing pride in being a partner in service.

After the project concluded, members and Toh Puan continued with a lunch fellowship, which provided an opportunity for a warm interaction and exchange in the true spirit of friendship and service.
