An Evening Of Purpose And New Possibilities: Iwc Of Alor Setar’s Three-In-One Celebration


On the 6th of September 2025, the Inner Wheel Club of Alor Setar (IWC AS) hosted an evening of fellowship, leadership, and celebration at the Royal Kedah Club, marking a significant milestone in the Club’s journey of service and sisterhood.

This occasion brought together three key events under one roof: the Official Visit of District Chairman Jillian Estrop, the Second General Meeting, and the Installation of the 2025–2026 Executive Committee. The event concluded with a vibrant hi-tea reception.

The event was graced by the presence of District Chairman Jillian Estrop, District Secretary Lucy Barrock, District ISO Sumitra Sundram, and Presidents of IWC of Penang and IWC of Butterworth, Sally Koh and R. Lalitha. Their presence infused the evening with warmth and a sense of unity that transcended Club boundaries.

The proceedings began with the Second General Meeting of the Club, where DC Jillian observed the Club’s governance in action and carried out an official inspection of records. Her commendation for the meticulous documentation and the smooth conduct of the Meeting was a proud moment for IWC AS - a clear reflection of the Club’s dedication to excellence and adherence to IIW standards.

As the evening unfolded, the spirit of continuity and renewal took centre stage. The Club expressed heartfelt appreciation to the outgoing 2024–2025 Executive Committee, honouring their year of dedicated service. The spotlight then shone brightly on incoming President Ishka, who was officially installed alongside her 2025–2026 Executive Committee. In her inaugural address, President Ishka delivered a heartfelt speech, outlining her commitment to lead with purpose, passion, and inclusivity.

District Chairman Jillian’s keynote address served as a powerful call to action, aligning with the IIW year’s theme: “Step Up and Lead by Example.” Her words resonated deeply with all present, reaffirming the Club’s mission and inspiring every member to embrace leadership with courage and compassion.

The exchange of gifts and tokens of appreciation and the ceremonial cutting of the celebration cake symbolised not just the start of a new term, but also the unity, hope, and shared aspirations that define the Inner Wheel spirit.

Laughter and camaraderie filled the air as the event transitioned into a cheerful hi-tea, highlighted by a spirited performance from the Share & Care Line Dancers. Soon, members and guests were on their feet, dancing, connecting, and celebrating the bonds that tie the Inner Wheel members together.
