8th Annual General Meeting and Fellowship

The AGM convened on 7th September 2025 at the Port Dickson Golf and Country Club from 12.30 pm .

The venue surrounded by its serene landscape and welcoming ambience provided a perfect setting as we gathered in the spirit of the Wild Wild West. As the saloon doors swing open, members arrived decked in bold cowgirl style.

A total of 15 members participated, with 13 attended physically, 2 joining virtually and 4 unable to attend with apologies. Prior to the AGM proceedings, the Candle of Friendship poem was recited followed by the lighting of the candle by the Charter President.

With a spirited western flair, the President called the meeting to order. The adoption of the agenda and confirmation of the previous AGM minutes were proposed and seconded. Our trail guided us through reports, programmes and plans for the frontier ahead. Discussions were respectful, purposeful and sprinkled with laughter, keeping the spirit comradeship alive. Office bearers continued for the second term 2025-2026 with cheers and applause from the floor.

Two members were formally inducted in a brief and meaningful ceremony by the Charter President together with the Immediate Past President and President of the club. Each member received an IW badge and presented with their welcome tokens and officially acknowledged as part of the sisterhood. A contribution from the Charter President for the functioning of the club was given to the President followed by a resounding applause from the members. The meeting wrapped up with firm decisions, achievable goals, and strong commitment from all members. The meeting closed with a spirited ‘Yee Haw’ from the President and heartfelt thanks to all who came ready to ride along.

After the meeting, the cowgirls saddled up for a chuckwagon feast. The afternoon continued with a lineup of lively performances and a fun and fashionable ‘horsewalk’ by members. The atmosphere was vibrant, entertaining and full of camaraderie filled with the charm of the ‘cowgirl era’ – checked clothes, denims, fringe, boots, lassos, toy pistols, bandanas and lively country tunes setting the tone.

The afternoon was not only entertaining, but also a celebration of unity, humour and the shared joy of the Wild West theme. Three winners for the best dressed category rode off with the title in style. The most impressive participant trotted away with the ‘horsewalk’ award. We wrapped up the event with a one night stay at the club and seafood dinner followed by a fellowship trip to the beach the next morning.

‘We rode in with style and rode out with memories’.
