26th Installation of Inner Wheel Club of Klang, District 330
The Inner Wheel Club of Klang (IWC Klang) marked its 26th Installation with a vibrant “Bollywood Night” at Premiere Hotel, Ballroom II. Sisters from clubs across the district, together with Rotarians and invited guests, joined IWC Klang members to welcome Ms Lalitha Veerappan as President for 2025–2026, together with her seven-member committee. Fourteen tables filled the ballroom as a live band set the celebratory tone.
Expertly organised by Organising Chair Ts. Dr Sri Lakshmi and her team, the evening reflected weeks of careful planning—venue booking, menu and food tasting, a crisp three-hour programme, coordination of VIP invitations, outreach to sister clubs, and prudent budgeting. Emcees Ms Sageetha and Ms Sathia opened with a warm welcome and house rules, guiding the programme with poise.
The occasion was graced by IW District 330 Chairman Jillian Estrop; Deputy National Representative Datin Shamini Nair; members of the District Executive Committee; Charter President of IWC of Klang, Datin Seetha Lakshmi; the President of IWC Klang, Datin Dr Sree Kala Pillay; Incoming President Ms Lalitha Veerappan; the Presidents of the Rotary Clubs of Klang, Klang Central and Pandamaran; our main sponsor, Mr Mathiass Basker (on behalf of GSI Sdn Bhd); and members of Inner Wheel and Rotary Clubs. Formalities included the National and State Anthems, Loyal Toasts, and the Lighting and Recital of the Candle of Friendship—a moving reminder of Inner Wheel’s bonds across clubs and communities.
A concise presentation celebrated IWC Klang’s 2024–2025 achievements, followed by an address from Outgoing President Datin Dr Sree Kala Pillay, who reflected on the year, thanked her committee and members for their teamwork and dedication to charity, then inaugurated the Incoming President and passed the baton with confidence and goodwill.
In her inaugural address, President Lalitha Veerappan shared a brief biography and her enthusiasm to serve—combining excitement with a clear sense of responsibility. She outlined key community projects for 2025–2026, introduced her new committee, and acknowledged the steadfast support of club members and her family.
Dinner and fellowship were accompanied by a live band. District Chairman (DC) Jillian Estrop then addressed the assembly, followed by the Induction of Five New Members—a proud milestone that brought IWC Klang’s membership roll to 26. The club also held a cake-cutting and conferred Special Honour on the Platinum Sponsor, GSI Sdn Bhd (represented by Mr Mathiass Basker). Guests enjoyed spirited performances by a local youth dance group, and a crowd-pleasing surprise saw six IWC Klang ladies, led by the Organising Chair, take the stage for a vibrant performance—showcasing talent, camaraderie, confidence, and sporting spirit.
This event would not have been possible without the generous support of Inner Wheel members, sister clubs, and sponsors—many of whom sponsored tables to raise funds for future charitable projects. Thank you.
More than 30 lucky-draw prizes added to the smiles as guests and members took home delightful gifts. The evening ended at about 10.30pm, with warm farewells, renewed friendships, and a shared resolve to serve—true hallmarks of the Inner Wheel spirit. Kudos to IWC Klang for a well-executed, memorable Installation and a promising start to the new Inner Wheel year.
