Instilling awareness in children on the dangers of vaping and smoking

On September 18, 9 members from the IWC of Penang marched into CAP with loads of food and goodies, including moon cakes and Chinese lanterns. Soon we saw the arrival of 30 children
with their caregivers from three homes.
1. Crystal Care Center
2. Children’s Protection Home
3. Shan Children’s Home
We had the privilege of having 4 young men from Chung Ling Private School helping us.

Mr Subbarow, CAP’s Education Officer, very cheerfully educated the children on the outcomes of vaping and smoking. He showed them many videos, including sweets like ‘Gula Melaka’, a type of chewing gum that can cause a person to choke and cause death. He also spoke on the enticing flavours in vapes urging the government to put an end to smoking, especially vaping.

President Sally then held a question and answer session including games and gave away lots of presents. Lanterns were distributed as it symbolised “Beacons of light and hope”.

The IWC of Penang ladies were pleased with the outcome of the project.
