Bringing a Little Cheer

In keeping with Inner Wheel’s objective of providing personal service, our club continues to carry out meaningful projects that touch lives throughout the year. One such act of kindness was a return visit to Anneiyin Karuna Illam, a care centre for underprivileged children that we have been supporting annually.

The centre’s website carries a touching message:

“There are genuinely sufficient resources in the world to ensure that no one, nowhere, at no time should go hungry.”

Inspired by this, on 28th September 2025, President Rajani, Vice President Tara, and Past President Indira visited Karuna Illam to deliver our club’s contributions, mainly food items and festive goodies such as murukku and laddus. This year, a clothes rack was also donated, which was a personal gift from Indira.

A heartfelt thank you to both Indira and Tara for coordinating and purchasing all the requested items in close communication with the centre’s administration.

Our members were warmly welcomed by the care centre’s administrative staff and 17 cheerful children from the home. To everyone’s delight, the children, who had been informed in advance that it was Rajani’s birthday in a few days, surprised her with a touching early birthday celebration, complete with a heartfelt prayer and radiant smiles.

It was a visit filled with warmth, laughter, and gratitude — a reminder that together, we can continue to make a big difference!
