Small acts of kindness
“Be a rainbow in someone’s cloud.” — Maya Angelou
There is always someone or a community somewhere who needs a helping hand. In our own little ways, we try to uplift, feel empathy, and show kindness. Over the years, we have continued to keep in touch with communities and individuals who we have supported, ensuring that the bond of care remains.
Recently, we received a heartfelt request from a friend of the Club, with whom we had collaborated in the past. She sought assistance in caring for her ailing and bedridden mother. Without hesitation, our members rallied together. Vice President Tara donated a hospital bed and personally arranged for its transport and reassembly at the recipient’s home. At the same time, PNR Shanti contributed by ordering essential adult Pampers online and having them delivered directly. Through these simple yet meaningful gestures, we hope to have lightened the heavy burden carried by a primary caregiver.
Another appeal came from SUKA Society. One of its projects is to protect trafficked survivors. They requested bags and luggage for about 30 individuals preparing to return home. Our Club was more than willing to extend support to ease their journey. Tara volunteered to collect and coordinate, and the bags were picked up by Ms. Tarini Cecil, the project coordinator at SUKA Society.
In addition, Tara invited members to support the Fundraiser Carnival organized by the Sathya Sai School. A few members promptly pledged to purchase ticket booklets, which will allow children from the Pure Life Society to attend the carnival and enjoy a fun-filled day. After all, nothing is more rewarding than bringing smiles to a group of children.
💖 These small acts, though simple, are powerful reminders that kindness multiplies when shared. Together, We Make a Difference.
