A Joyful Deepavali Celebration with Jenjarom Orphanage Home
Objective:
To bring the spirit of Deepavali to the children of Jenjarom Orphanage Home (Pertubuhan Kebajikan Kesayangan Maha (PKKM) through a day of celebration filled with love, laughter, and cultural warmth. The event aimed to create lasting memories for the children while fostering compassion and community service among club members.
Project Overview:
On 4th October 2025, members of the Inner Wheel Club of Klang visited the Jenjarom Orphanage Home for a meaningful festive outreach event. The initiative was designed to celebrate Deepavali with the young boys and girls of the home by providing them with new clothing and accessories, sweet treats, and a day of joyous activities.
Each child received new Deepavali clothes, slippers, bangles, earrings, pottu, hair clips, and sweets — carefully chosen to bring joy and confidence as they prepared for the festival. The little girls were especially thrilled with their sparkling ‘kollusu’ (anklets), while every child received an ang pow, making their day even more special.
The celebration included singing, dancing, and games, with both the children and club members taking part enthusiastically. The joyful energy and heartfelt smiles truly embodied the spirit of Deepavali — light overcoming darkness and happiness shared through kindness.
Impact:
This project brought smiles and festive joy to the children of the Jenjarom Orphanage Home, many of whom rarely experience such personalized celebrations. The gesture not only provided them with material gifts but also instilled a sense of belonging and hope.
For the members, it was a fulfilling reminder of the club’s commitment to service, empathy, and nurturing the spirit of community care.
