Deepavali Cheer

The Inner Wheel Club of Petaling Jaya held its Deepavali Cheer on Thursday, 16 October 2025, at two locations.

The first visit was to Shanar Curry House, where the restaurant staff received Deepavali Ang Pow packets as a gesture of appreciation for their support of the Club’s project, “Buy a Book to Teach a Child.”

The second visit was to Kalvi Mayam, a centre that provides an After School Hours programme for 26 students aged between 7 and 12, whose parents belong to the B40 group. The students receive coaching in all school subjects.

An engaging art activity was conducted by Past President May Khoo, which the children thoroughly enjoyed. The celebration concluded with the cutting of a Deepavali cake and the presentation of goody bags to each child, which included a dictionary.
