AUTISM AWARENESS: Understanding, Acceptance and Support for Individuals on the Autism Spectrum
On 15th November 2025, IWC Apsaras successfully organized an event dedicated to the public on ‘Autism Awareness’ with a strong focus on promoting understanding, acceptance, and meaningful support for individuals with autism. The event was held at SK Taman Rasah Jaya, Seremban, with a strong turnout of 42 participants in attendance. The programme reflected Apsaras’ commitment to education and community engagement, aiming to foster a more informed and compassionate society.
We gratefully acknowledge the support of YB Cha Kee Chin, Member of Parliament Rasah Seremban and Dr Ananthi Tharmarajan, Director of Pusat Jagaan Kanak-Kanak Istimewa Sinar Bakti, Seremban, who played important roles in ensuring the success of this programme.
The main objectives of the event were to:-
Two speakers, Pn Noor Ra’idah Rufaidah Tuah a speech therapist with HTJ Seremban and Pn Hasanah Hassan, a Biodynamic Craniosacral Therapist were invited. The session focused on explaining autism, addressing common misconceptions, practical approach in daily lives and highlighting the importance of early awareness on autism. Both speakers provided valuable perspectives grounded in professional experience, helping participants gain a deeper and more accurate understanding on autism. A true account was shared by a father of an autistic child, who delivered a brief talk, highlighting his personal experiences and sacrifices throughout his journey in supporting his son until the completion of his secondary education.
At the conclusion of the Q&A session, participants conveyed that they were overwhelmed by the depth of knowledge and meaningful experiences shared during the programme.
This event contributed to building a more inclusive and compassionate community to support individuals with autism and promote positive social change. As a gesture of gratitude, tokens of appreciation were presented to a representative from the State Education Department, speakers and the head of the school’s PPKI.
At the end of the programme, refreshments and lunch were served to all participants.
