Virtual bannerette exchange

On Saturday, 6th December 2025, eight members representing IWC Butterworth, District 330, Malaysia and nine members representing IWC Bukomansimbi District 900, Uganda conducted a ‘Meet and Greet’ fellowship session online via Microsoft Teams.

This was a completely new experience and will go down in the annals of IWC Butterworth as its first ever foray into one of Inner Wheel’s objectives which is ‘To Foster International Understanding’.

ISOs Aasha Nambiar of IWC Butterworth and Nakanwagi Justine of IWC Bukomansimbi took the opportunity to effect a virtual bannerette exchange.

Committee member and project lead

Ho Yi Yern had started a Linkedin account for IWC Butterworth early this term and had been contacted by Charter President John Ssentamu of the Rotary Club of Kinoni, Rotary District 9213 Uganda which was the sponsor club of IWC Bukomansimbi. He had touched base with Yi Yern resulting in the historic meet-up.

President Dr Lalitha Ramasamy introduced IWC Butterworth’s members as did her Ugandan counterpart her members. Then there was sharing of projects conducted by both clubs.

There was general agreement that this was indeed an uplifting experience for all attendees and underscored Inner Wheel’s objective of bringing like-minded women from all walks of life and all over the world together in friendship and service.
