OTW: Yoga & talk on digital respect & online respect – stop the bullying, stop the hurt
Objective:
To promote awareness among school children (Simpang Lima, Klang) on the importance of kindness, digital respect, and online safety while encouraging a supportive school environment under the theme “Be A Buddy, Not A Bully.” The program also aimed to support the Orange the World (OTW) campaign in advocating for respect and prevention of violence.
Project Overview:
On 12 December 2025, the Inner Wheel Club of Klang (IWC Klang) organized the OTW – Yoga and Talk Program at SJKT Simpang Lima, Andalas. The program brought together students, teachers, and 14 IWC Klang members for a meaningful morning focused on well-being and awareness.
The event began with a warm welcome and introduction highlighting the OTW campaign and its theme, “Be A Buddy, Not A Bully.” A lively yoga session for children was conducted to help students relax, energize, and start the day positively.
Following the yoga session, an awareness talk by Shageetha focused on Digital Respect and Online Safety, addressing issues related to cyberbullying and encouraging students to use technology responsibly. The session emphasized kindness, empathy, and the importance of supporting peers both online and offline.
The program also included speeches by the IWC Klang President and the Headmaster, reinforcing the importance of fostering a respectful and caring school community. As a symbolic gesture of appreciation, tokens were presented to Shageetha and Kartini for their contributions to the program.
The event concluded with a photo session and the distribution of orange balloons and helpline contact cards, reminding students that support is always available if they experience bullying or need assistance.
Impact:
The program successfully created awareness among students about the dangers of bullying and the importance of digital responsibility. Through engaging activities such as yoga and an interactive talk, students were encouraged to practice kindness, respect, and positive online behavior.
The distribution of helpline contact cards further ensured that students were informed about available support channels. Overall, the initiative helped strengthen the message that everyone can play a role in creating a safe and supportive community.
Acknowledgement:
Heartfelt appreciation to SJKT Simpang Lima, Andalas, the teachers, and school administration for their warm cooperation and support in making this program possible. Special thanks to Shageetha and Kartini for sharing their expertise and contributing to the success of the awareness session.
Gratitude is also extended to all IWC Klang members who dedicated their time and effort in organizing and participating in this meaningful outreach program.
Closing Note:
This initiative reflects the Inner Wheel’s commitment to service and community engagement. By educating young minds about respect, empathy, and responsible digital behavior, the program reinforced the message that kindness and friendship can make a powerful difference in preventing bullying and building a safer future for all.|
