Friendship beyond borders, Jul-Dec 2025
The first half of the term has been a dynamic and heart-warming period for ISO Sue Shaari of the Inner Wheel Club of Ipoh East, Malaysia, marked by meaningful interactions, global engagement, and memorable exchanges that reflect the true spirit of Inner Wheel.
The international journey began in Chennai, India, with participation in a Meet and Greet session on 11 July 2025. Organised by PDC Arathi Narayanan of IWC Chennai Verve and graced by District Chairman Devi Mathimaran and District ISO Udayalakshmi, the gathering brought together 45 members, including ISOs from 39 clubs across District 323. The session provided a valuable platform for cultural exchange, camaraderie, and the strengthening of inter district ties.

Meet and greet in Chennai
Back in Malaysia, cross border connections continued on 15 August 2025 with the organisation of a district wide fellowship and bannerette exchange at Roots, Bangsar Kuala Lumpur. The event welcomed District 332 ISO Sheetal and her husband, Dr Satish, and brought together members from across Inner Wheel District 330. The gathering encouraged the sharing of club activities, fostered collaboration across districts, and reinforced unity within the Inner Wheel network. Attendees included DISO Sumitra Sundram, representatives from IWC Kuala Lumpur led by ISO Puan Sri Nora, President Pang Yoke Ling and PP Datin Regina Low, members from IWC Subang Selangor with ISO Jayanthi Soma and PNR Parimala Satheesan, IWC Petaling Jaya represented by CC Rajesh Sharma, IWC Bangsar represented by ISO Amarjit, IWC Johor Bahru represented by Secretary Seema Unnithan, and the host club IWC Ipoh East, represented by ISO Sue Shaari.

District 330 bannerette exchange with District 332 ISO Sheetal
Sri Lanka became the next chapter in this journey of friendship. On 24 October 2025, ISO F. Hareiza Abdeen of IWC Kandy, ISO Lufiza Rahman, and Riyaza Ashik of IWC Matale from District 322 welcomed members in Kandy, sharing stories of their clubs’ initiatives and exploring opportunities for joint projects with Malaysia. The connections continued on 30 October 2025, when ISO Ruby Subasinghe and President Dinali Abeyratna of IWC Galle hosted a warm meeting that included lively conversations and a bannerette exchange. The journey culminated on 1 November 2025 at the Kingsbury Hotel, Colombo, with a bannerette exchange involving ISO Veerathi of IWC Colombo, ISO Dishni Senaratne of IWC Colombo Central, ISO Samia Cader of IWC Colombo Mid Town, ISO Priyanthi Dissanayake of IWC Anuradhapura, ISO Abirami Prathab of IWC Naidu Wattala, ISO Rohini Dayaratne of IWC Mount Lavinia, and ISO Sirini Syambalapitiya of IWC Jaela Kandana, coordinated by DISO Amal Thasnim, celebrating the enduring bonds of friendship and collaboration across districts.

These interactions across India, Malaysia, and Sri Lanka clearly demonstrate the strength of Inner Wheel’s international bonds. Despite geographical distances, the shared commitment to friendship, service, and unity continues to connect members worldwide, reinforcing the enduring international sisterhood of Inner Wheel.
