Orange the World Walkathon

The Inner Wheel Club of Kuala Lumpur North (IWC KL North) successfully organised a Walkathon in support of the global Orange the World campaign, an international initiative dedicated to raising awareness on the prevention of violence against women and children. Held in conjunction with the 16 Days of Activism, the event aimed to engage the public while reinforcing the importance of advocacy, education, and community responsibility.

The walkathon commenced at 7.00 a.m., with IWC KL North members assembling at the designated meeting point to welcome morning walkers and joggers. Participants were encouraged to register for the walkathon via a QR code displayed at the venue, allowing for a simple and efficient registration process. Members greeted participants warmly and distributed informational flyers and thoughtfully prepared goodie bags, creating opportunities for meaningful engagement.

Individuals from various walks of life took part in the event, reflecting strong community interest and support for the cause. Members from the Inner Wheel Clubs of KL, KLCC, and Selangor were also present, demonstrating unity and collective commitment across clubs.

Throughout the programme, members proactively engaged with the public, explaining the significance of the Orange the World campaign and the urgent need to speak out against all forms of violence towards women and children. A prominently displayed banner at the entrance helped draw attention to the cause, while the Club President addressed members and participants, sharing a brief overview of Inner Wheel and the objectives of the campaign.

All 100 goodie bags were distributed successfully, and the positive response from the public underscored the effectiveness of community-based awareness efforts. The walkathon not only promoted physical well-being but also reinforced advocacy for a safer and more inclusive society.
