DC’s visit to Butterworth


On Saturday 10th January 2026, members of IWC Butterworth led by President Dr Lalitha Ramasamy celebrated Inner Wheel Day and hosted Chairman of Inner Wheel District 330, Malaysia, Jillian Estrop for her official club visit.

Fourteen members and two potential members met at 3.30pm at the Sri Ananda Bahwan Restaurant in Bagan Ajam, Butterworth. It was also the club’s first general meeting of 2026.

DC Jillian lit the Candle of Friendship which was followed by the recitation of the Friendship Poem. Dr Lalitha and Secretary Molly Anne Morris organised a slide presentation which gave an overview of the projects undertaken by the club for the first half of term 2025-2026. There were also revelations as to projects planned for the second half of the term.

DC Jillian in her address congratulated the club on its achievements and gave some useful advice based on her observations. She also shed some light on the reasons behind some of the rules Inner Wheel clubs are expected to abide by.

She next went through some of the clauses in the club’s constitution which could be adjusted to better reflect IIW’s goals and aspirations.

Afterwards, a cake cutting was held to add to the anniversary cheer. DC Jillian was given a token of appreciation towards the conclusion of the meeting.

Fellowship followed and the easy camaraderie among members was obvious as they broke bread over their favourite snacks served at the restaurant. It was indeed an enjoyable day as they celebrated being Inner Wheel members.
