World Inner Wheel Day 2026

Dialysis Chair Donation Handover Ceremony
Hospital Seberang Jaya


In conjunction with World Inner Wheel Day 2026, the Inner Wheel Club of Pearl of the Orient, Penang proudly organised a Dialysis Chair Donation Handover Ceremony at Hospital Seberang Jaya, made possible through the generosity and compassion of our donors and Inner Wheel members.

The ceremony was graciously hosted by the Hospital Seberang Jaya management, led by Dr. Shameni Sunasundram, Director of Hospital Seberang Jaya, together with members of the medical, dialysis, administrative, and public relations teams. Their warm welcome and commitment to patient care provided the perfect setting for this meaningful collaboration.

This project culminated in the successful donation of 15 haemodialysis chairs, fully funded within an extraordinary one-week period. This achievement reflects not only efficiency, but the collective generosity of donors who responded swiftly and wholeheartedly, whether through full or shared sponsorships. Every contribution — large or small — played an essential role in bringing this project to fruition.

We are deeply grateful to ALL donors whose kindness has directly translated into comfort, dignity, and improved care for patients undergoing long-term dialysis treatment. Your generosity ensures that patients are supported in an environment that is not only clinical, but compassionate — easing both physical discomfort and emotional strain for patients and their families.

We were honoured by the presence and strong support of District 330 Chairman Jillian Estrop, together with District Officers DVC Saraswathy Veloo and DS Lucy Barrock, whose leadership and encouragement continue to inspire service across clubs.

This project builds upon the success of World Inner Wheel Day 2025, where the Inner Wheel Club of Pearl of the Orient, together with fellow Clubs and donors, contributed 50 wheelchairs, 10 aero-smart wheelchairs and 10 geriatric ambulatory chairs to Hospital Besar Pulau Pinang, reaffirming that sustained service is only possible through continuous generosity and shared commitment.

On behalf of Club President Dr. Janet Lim, the members of the Inner Wheel Club of Pearl of the Orient, Penang, and the Organising Committee, we extend our heartfelt thanks to every donor, Club, and Inner Wheel sister who made this project possible. Your trust, generosity, and belief in service have transformed compassion into lasting impact.

As we mark World Inner Wheel Day 2026, may this project stand as a reminder that when generosity meets purpose, lives are quietly but profoundly changed.
