Celebrating Women’s Day: Helen Loo Chean Yin – compassion in action.


Helen Loo Chean Yin’s life journey is one of awakening, resilience, and service. Once driven by the belief that money defined success and happiness, her life took a profound turn when she was diagnosed with kidney failure. Facing despair, she experienced a deep inner transformation that reshaped not only her outlook, but her purpose in life.

Guided by the teachings of Tzu Chi Foundation under Master Cheng Yen, Helen embraced “Buddhism in Action” and turned gratitude into service. Today, she lives simply as a vegetarian, values health and mindfulness, and actively participates in Tzu Chi’s humanitarian work, supporting charitable outreach, promoting compassion, and serving wherever help is needed.

As a devoted daughter, mother, and committed Tzu Chi volunteer, Helen embodies the spirit of service through action. Her journey reminds us that true fulfillment comes not from what we own, but from how much love, care, and compassion we give to others, an inspiring example for Women’s Day and beyond.

Helen joined IWC AS in September 2025, and since then, she has been a source of inspiration to fellow members. The Club is immensely proud to count her among us - a woman whose life reflects resilience, humility, and service in action. Through her dedication to humanitarian work and her quiet strength, Helen exemplifies the values of Inner Wheel and reminds us that when women uplift others, they create lasting change in the world.

IWC AS wishes a wonderful Women’s Day to all Inner Wheel Members. May we all fulfil the ideals of Inner Wheel and continue to grow from strength to strength.
