An Inner Wheel Journey For That Irresistible Harum Manis


There are journeys you plan… and then there are those that quietly have a massive impact.

It started simply - Harum Manis season in Perlis. As a fan of this famed mango, three members could not resist. So - Ishka, Shan and Padmini set off on what they thought would be a quick trip to the Jasa Farm in Kangar. A straightforward mission: buy mangoes and head home.

Perlis had always been that tiny state up north, with little to detain wandering souls, or so everyone thought. But the drive told a different story.

Vast acres of harvested paddy fields stretched endlessly, hills rolled in the distance, and quaint homes sat quietly among lush greenery. Perlis was no longer just a destination - it was a feeling. Quiet, unspoiled, with a rustic charm.

Jasa Farm did not disappoint. The members were warmly welcomed and each mango was rich and fragrant. The farm did not just have mangoes - pineapples, gac fruit, bananas, brinjal are all thriving under the relentless sun. Lunch later was perfect, with mango sticky rice, of course.

The journey home was more quiet, the car filled with the sweet scent of mangoes and the kind of contentment that needs no words.

What began as a trip for fruit became something more - a gentle reminder that the most overlooked places often hold the greatest beauty, and that sometimes, the journey itself is the real reward. In many ways, this journey echoed the very essence of Inner Wheel - friendship that is fragrant and sweet just like the Harum Mnis mango. Beyond projects and meetings, the true spirit of Inner Wheel lives in these shared experiences.
