District Chairman’s Official Visit Marks Meaningful Milestone for IWCSS
25 April 2026 was a significant day for the Inner Wheel Club of Subang Selangor (IWCSS) as the club welcomed District Chairman Jillian Estrop for her official annual visit, which coincided with the club’s 9th General Meeting under the leadership of President Rajani.
The annual DC’s visit served as an important opportunity to review IWCSS’s administrative and financial progress, provide guidance and support to club members, and strengthen fellowship among members and the district management. It also allowed the DC to gain a deeper understanding of the club’s service initiatives and their impact on the community.
In preparation for the visit, members meticulously organised the club’s records and documentation for review, ensuring that all administrative and reporting requirements were in order. The meeting was held at Cinnamon Indian Cuisine in Klang, where members gathered in specially selected club sarees adorned with floral-inspired patterns that added a touch of elegance to the occasion. Past National Representative Shanti Menon served as Master of Ceremonies.
District Chairman Jillian commended the club’s transparency, diligent record-keeping, and commitment to service, making the meeting both productive and encouraging for members.
A highlight of the visit was a stopover at Rumah Perlindungan Sosial (RPS) in Klang, a shelter for abused women and children that has been closely supported by IWCSS since 2020. Over the years, the club has contributed towards the construction of a security wall, installation of CCTV cameras, and the provision of essential supplies, particularly during the pandemic.
Most recently, IWCSS raised funds to repair the shelter’s leaking roof, a long-standing issue that caused flooding in common areas during heavy rain and disrupted daily activities for residents. The project was made possible through contributions from YWCA, the 100 Women’s Club, and individual members. Project Coordinator Malliga presented photographs of the completed repairs to the District Chairman.
During the visit, Datin Sheila Devaraj, RPS Vice President, shared a video presentation on the shelter’s work and conducted a tour of the facility. District Chairman Jillian also had the opportunity to meet committee members and interact with two families currently seeking refuge at the shelter, gaining firsthand insight into the challenges they face and the positive impact of community support.
IWCSS is grateful to District Chairman Jillian for her valuable feedback and guidance, as well as for taking the time to witness firsthand one of the club’s recent community projects. The day concluded with constructive discussions, warm fellowship, laughter, and a renewed commitment to service, hallmarks of the Inner Wheel spirit.
