Understanding Endometriosis – A Step Towards Women’s Wellness
On 16th May 2026, eight members of Inner Wheel Club of Apsaras took part in an enriching health talk organised by the Hindu Society of Health Services, Seremban, held at 10.00 am at Mawar Medical Centre. This participation was in line with the club’s commitment to personal development and the well-being of its members.
The talk featured a highly informative session on Endometriosis, delivered by Dr. Kumudha Munusamy, Consultant Obstetrician & Gynaecologist from Mawar Medical Centre. Dr. Kumudha brought clarity and compassion to a condition that is often misunderstood and underdiagnosed.
Members gained valuable insights covering a wide spectrum of the topic — from understanding what endometriosis is and how prevalent it is among women, to the importance of raising awareness. The session also explored possible causes and associated symptoms, the various stages of the condition, and the crucial reminder that pain is not always visible to others.
Dr. Kumudha shed light on how endometriosis can significantly impact a woman’s daily life and fertility, while also addressing the challenges surrounding its diagnosis. Members learned about the range of treatment goals and options available, including pain management, hormonal therapies, and surgical interventions.
Equally important were the discussions on the emotional and mental health toll the condition can take, as well as the role of nutrition and lifestyle in supporting those living with endometriosis. The session also tackled common myths and facts, empowering members with accurate knowledge, and concluded with guidance on when to seek timely medical advice.
The members of Inner Wheel Club of Apsaras left the session feeling informed, empowered, and more aware of this silent yet significant women’s health issue. The club extends its heartfelt appreciation to the organizers for organising and delivering such a meaningful and impactful programme.
