Medical Camp, Food Fair and Charity Dinner together with Rotary Penang

29th May 2026 was an invigorating day indeed for Inner Wheel Club of Penang. We took part in the End Polio Carnival 2026 with the Moto “Together We Can End Polio which kick-started at 8am. A fun walk around Georgetown Heritage Centre led by 57 motor bikers from Seberang Jaya followed by 4 trishaws and lastly around 100 enthusiastic walkers (3 walkers represented IWC of Penang) started the Carnival.

Meanwhile at the Rotary House, a Medical Camp was held. A group of Doctors, Nurses and volunteers were conducting health screening.

While all this was going on, 12 members from IWC of Penang were getting ready for the food fair which started at 9am. IWC of Penang teamed up with Rotary Clubs and championed the Charity Food Fair which ended at 2pm. 2 stalls were manned by our 12 ladies. Non-stop sales and overwhelming pre-orders by friends and members of IWC Pearl Of The Orient saw our food being sold off by 11am. Our total sales was RM5,275.

The day did not end but continued with the Rotary Charity Dinner at Gurney Bay, themed “Night of Hope and Humanity” in support of the JHM Rotary Haemodialysis Centre. Here the ladies let down our hair and had a great time after days of hard work, especially in preparing the home made food for sale at the food fair.

The money collected from the Fun Walk was channelled towards the Prevention of Polio while the profits from the Food Fair was channeled towards the Penang Crystal Home and money from the dinner towards the JHM Rotary Haemodialysis Centre.
