Every Child Deserves to Feel Loved, Heard and Valued



On 14 June 2026, members of the Inner Wheel Club of Selangor visited a Safe Home in Selangor, a place that provides shelter, care and protection for children rescued from vulnerable situations.

We brought along toys, board games and building blocks, but what made the day truly special was the time we spent with the children. We played together, laughed together and listened as they shared stories about their studies, dreams, hobbies and aspirations. They had so much to tell, and all they needed was someone willing to listen.

One moment that touched us deeply was meeting a nine-year-old child who had never experienced eating McDonald’s before. Being able to fulfil that simple wish brought immense joy, not only to the child but to all of us. It reminded us that happiness is often found in the simplest acts of kindness.

As we prepared to leave, the children surprised us with a handmade thank-you card. Though simple, the gesture touched our hearts profoundly and served as a beautiful reminder that kindness, care and human connection leave lasting impressions.

We went there hoping to brighten the children’s day, but we left feeling inspired by their resilience, warmth and courage. Their smiles and stories will remain with us for a long time.

Sometimes, the greatest gift we can give a child is not a toy or a treat, but our time, our presence and the assurance that they matter.

Together, let us continue to nurture hope, spread kindness and create brighter futures for every child.
