Hearts Across the Sea: A fellowship Luncheon & a New Promise for 2027
The celebration of a successful project is always sweet, but it becomes truly special when it paves the way for future impact.
Following their joint project at SK Malawa, 6 members from the IWC Pearl of the Orient, Penang, and 4 members from the IWC of Kota Kinabalu gathered at Smokies in Kota Kinabalu for a celebratory fellowship lunch.
Merriment, Gratitude, and Visionary Sparks
The atmosphere was electric with good spirits. Surrounded by fantastic food and even better fellowship, members from both clubs relaxed and eagerly exchanged thoughts, reflections, and ideas from past initiatives and upcoming terms.
During the luncheon, President Margaret Michael Awang expressed her deep appreciation to the visiting delegation for including the Kota Kinabalu club and its members in the morning’s meaningful school initiative. But the magic didn’t stop at shared gratitude. Right there at the table, amid the laughter and camaraderie, a brilliant spark was ignited—a brand-new joint project was officially born for 2027!
Sealing the Deal: An Enthusiastic ‘MOU’
Proving that the Inner Wheel spirit moves fast when inspired, members enthusiastically joined hands around the table as a symbolic Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) to seal the deal and immediately set the 2027 project in motion.
With an ambitious timeline aiming for completion by next June, the energy was nothing short of amazing as members from each club happily stepped forward, volunteering on the spot to act as Project Leaders for each side to steer the new initiative.
A Traditional Exchange of Sisterhood
To symbolize this enduring bond of friendship, Club ISO (PP) Janet Chong exchanged club bannerettes with President Margaret, marking another beautiful chapter of collaboration between District 330 and District 331.
Bursting Hearts & Warm Bellies 💖
The afternoon drew to a close with bellies filled with wonderful food and hearts completely bursting with joy. It was a perfect testament to the fact that land and sea are no match for shared purpose.
Thank you for the incredible memories and unmatched hospitality, Kota Kinabalu. This is not a goodbye, but simply a placeholder... until we meet again!

Sealing the deal with an enthusiastic “MOU”.
Cheers to a successful project and lifelong friendship. Bottoms up!
A beautiful exchange of sisterhood. Side by side in true Inner Wheel spirit.
