IWC Subang Selangor (IWCSS) initiated a joint virtual meeting with IWC of Calicut Central (IWCCC), Kerala, India to share both Clubs contributions to community service as well as cultural events.  This is to reciprocate IWCCC’s kind invitation to IWCSS to participate in the former’s Installation of President and Office-bearers for 2021-2022 that took place earlier in July.

It was an informal fun-filled meeting, with each Club showcasing its involvement.  As this was the second meet between the two Clubs, barriers were broken and a livelier discussion took place as the members got to know each other and their respective roles and talents.

The members came away with enthusiasm to meet again virtually before the end of the year.

Both Clubs commended on the community work undertaken respectively and loads of laughter and merriment ensued as members watched the Clubs’ respective contributions.  The meeting ended with the hope that the Clubs could meet physically in either of the countries, perhaps in the coming year when the threat of the Covid 19 is over and air travel returns to normal.

What comes to mind in this pandemic, is that the ability of members to handle technology is elevated and most have become tech-savvy.  IWCSS’s IPP Shanthy Chandran designed the invite, Secretary Tara hosted the Zoom session, co-hosted by IWCCC’s IPP Vanitha, and the whole evening went without a glitch. The world has come into our homes.  Certainly, there is a silver lining to every cloud.
