Orange The World campaign Solidarity Walk by IWC of Penang with the support of IWC POTO and IWC of Butterworth
Looming dark clouds and the booming sound of thunder did not deter our spirits from car-rying out our planned walk to bring about awareness and to spread the message to End Violence against women and girls.
On the 13th of Dec, the Inner Wheel Clubs of Penang, Butterworth and Pearl Of The Orient joined hands with Penang Women’s Development Cooperation and collaborated with them in the Orange The World Campaign. Members of the 3 clubs, together with some mem-bers from IWC of Alor Setar and IWC of Ipoh East, not forgetting the friends and Rotarians who came in support, walked in solidarity, carrying placards with slogans that conveyed the urgency to stop the violence and not be bystanders to the bullying of the female gen-der.
The star attraction of the walk was the 9 colourful trishaws leading the front line, carrying our ladies who were holding placards bearing our slogans, to stop Violence.
The walk, around 1km was fun as we saw great interaction among members and their friends. It showed the importance of moving together and by working together, we can achieve more.
