Chinese members of IWCKL hosted a lunch with entertainment by SMK Jinjang students who presented dances, a very Impressive lion dance, and the presence of the "God of Prosperity". 10 January 2015 (Saturday). IWC Ipoh East. Celebrating IIW Day with underprivileged children from Sungai Siput (U). Working together with the Caring and Sharing Group, IWCIE members treated 50 children and their advisers to breakfast and lunch at the Sri Murugan Centre in Ipoh. The children had fun playing group games and everyone received a goodie bag. On the whole it was a memorable experience for all participants. Click to view photos. |
7 January 2015 (Wednesday). IWC Kuala Lumpur and Inner Wheel Clubs in Klang Valley. Celebrating IIW Day. All Inner Wheel Clubs in the Klang valley joined the celebration wearing international dresses, even a Cleopatra, dancing to international music. IWCKL had the honour of the presence of District 330 Chairman Datin Dr Ramani Subramanium and Vice-Chairman Ambika Menon. District 331 Chairman Alice Wong who flew all the way from Sibu, and National Representative Datin Pearl Jai Mohan. Special guest was Deputy High Commissioner Martha Mazimba of the Republic of Zambia, who gave a talk on Womens' role in Zambia. 27 December 2014 (Saturday). IWC Ipoh East. Helping Flood Victims. Prema and Pakia spearheaded IWC Ipoh East efforts to aid flood victims in Perak. Donations of rice, sugar, biscuits, noodles, clothes and other essentials were collected from members and the public to be distributed to the flood victims in Kuala Kangsar and Sungai Siput. 06 December 2014 (Saturday). IWC Ipoh East. Children Festive Party. As part of IIW's Happier Futures campaign, IWCIE organised a "Children's Festive Party" on 6th December 2014 at Royal Ipoh Club to celebrate the major Malaysian festivals with 120 orphans from Pertubuhan Kebajikan Anak-Anak Yatim Darussalam, Hannah Home, Vision Home, Precious Gift Home and Praise Homes for Girls and Boys. Members made paper hats and bead bracelets a week before the event, and on the day the children were fêted to a High Tea, and Indian Classical Dance performance. They also danced, competed with each other and were enjoyed the antics of a clown. Upon departure each child received a Goodie bag with toys and snacks. 3 December 2014 (Wednesday). IWC Kuala Lumpur. Christmas cheer with Sisters of CHIJ. Members spent time and treated the Sisters of the Convent of the Holy Infant Jesus to lunch. 26 November 2014 (Wednesday). IWC Kuala Lumpur. Helping out Persatuan Istimewa Kanak-kanak Kajang. PKIK is a non-governmental organisation totally dependent on donations and contributions from the public. Tax exempt receipts are issued for donations. One of our members annually donates RM5,000 and in addition, the club raised funds by making items for sale and bought miscellaneous items for their needs. Click to view photos. |
22 November 2014 (Saturday). IWC Kuantan Indera Mahkota. Beautiful Quilts for Charity. Contributed by kind donors from Malaysia, Singapore and Brunei via a Facebook request from member Ms Audrey Tan. The quilts were donated to 39 children from Rapha Home in conjunction with the visit of DC Datin Dr Ramani Subramaniam on 22 November 2014. The children were also treated to a lunch, with a magic show and entertainment by a clown. Click to view video. |
15 October 2014 (Wednesday). IWC Kuala Lumpur. Deepavali project at Karunai Illam Home for Boys and Girls. Members from IWCKL, led by President Ooi Bee Ngoh, made a visit to the Karunai Illam Home for Boys and Girls in Taman Ehsan, Kuala Lumpur. The club distributed ang pow, food and goody bags to the children. The Club also arranged for a new fibre glass door, air-conditioning for the living room and kitchen cabinets. However on the day of the visit only some of the children were present as the rest were away in school. |

MERWARNA” organized by Rukun Tetangga Taman Wah Keong & JKKK Kampung Baru Simee. The event took place at
Tadika Penjana Minda, Ipoh on 30th August 2014 (Saturday) from 8 a.m. until noon. IWC Ioras Ipoh sponsored the
toothbrushes and the toothpaste for the kids who came for the Kem. Kudos to IWC IORAS IPOH ladies. |

DC Datin Dr Ramani, PDC Juanita, members of the district committee, PP and members of five IW clubs graced the colourful and musical evening. |
7 August 2014 (Thursday). IWC Kuala Lumpur. 66th Installation. Installation of President Ooi Bee Ngoh and her committee 2014-2015 was held at the Selangor Club Dataran in a high tea event themed Country & Western. About 200 people attended comprising members and guests who came suitably attired. |

3 August 2014 (Sunday) IWC Ipoh East.
Visit to Vision Home, Ipoh. Members of IWC Ipoh East organized an Evening of Fun, Games and Dinner for residents of a home for orphans and destitute. The home houses 23 children of ages 4 to 17 years, 3 handicapped adults and 4 helpers.
The evening warmed up with everyone doing the Chicken Dance. This was followed by the children playing Passing the Cushion, Musical Chairs and
“Anak Ayam” games. Chocolate wafers were given as ‘forfeits’ and the children were happy to show off their singing and dancing talents. After the energetic games, members sat together with the children for dinner. The evening ended with every child receiving a specially selected present. On the whole, it was a fulfilling and unforgettable evening. |
18 July 2014 (Friday). IWC Ioras Ipoh. Candlelight Vigil in memory of MH17. In memory of Flight MH17, the passengers and cabin crew,
a candlelight vigil was held on 18th July 2014, 9:30 pm at the Ipoh Railway Station. Candles and flowers for
prayers filled the area. IWC IORAS IPOH would like to thank all Ipoh People who
took their time off to be part of this event. At this incredibly sad and sensitive time, they convey
condolences to the loved ones of those lost in this tragedy. |
