Members spent the morning carrying out activities and distributing gifts at a centre run by the Perak Society for the Promotion of Mental Health. In a belief that 'Access to Good Healthcare Shouldn't Depend on Where you Live', 220 Afghan and Pakistani refugees at Top Achievers Academy, Bandar Baru Ampang, received consultations with doctors, laboratory services, eye screening, dental care, MMR vaccinations and medicines. This project was made possible through partnerships with the Malaysian Association of Clinical Biochemist, PERTIWI Soup Kitchen & Health Services, Tun Hussein Onn National Eye Hospital, Abbott Diabetic Care, Qualitas & Tree Med. 10 Jan 2017 (Tuesday). DISTRICT 330. Commemorating World Inner Wheel Day 2017. IWC Kuala Lumpur organised the World Inner Wheel Day 2017 in collaboration with all the 18 clubs in District 330 to celebrate this occasion.
The said event was held at the residence of PDC Juanita and Rotarian PP Dr Lee Hock Bee.
The three objectives of Inner Wheel were set in motion wherein 150 members congregated in friendship with teasers and laughter, games and prizes, and memories in photos.
The Clubs donated 3,523.41 kg worth of provisions, exceeding all expectations, and is ranked and admitted to the Malaysia Book of Records as the Biggest Hamper. This event created history for Inner Wheel District 330.
The provisions were sent to Malaysian Social Research Institute (MSRI) to be distributed to 220 refugee children who attend free school daily at the said Centre. |

30 Dec 2016 (Friday). IWC TAIPING. Aid to destitude school children and the Nagamma Ulu Tupai Temple. With compassion for the plight of a group of destitude children, members extended help which was received with open arms and grateful smiles. RM100 cash, school uniforms, bags and shoes were donated to the children and the Nagamma Ulu Tupai Temple. Members also prayed for continued guidance for these young children. Click to view photos. |

Delicious treats, hand-made bracelets, songs and party wear created a day to remember with these special women. The club also donated a commercial fridge to the home. The school would be closing soon for the long holidays. The highlight of the day was the writing of a Wish List by the children on how they plan to change their behaviour and attitude in the coming year and also what school materials they would like. Spouse of Territorial Chief, Toh Puan Nori, spearheaded a plan to beautify Bukit Larut, a hill station with an old world charm, that had a look of neglect. IWC Taiping with 14 NGOs braved nerve wrecking hair pin bends and wet tarmac to ascend into the cool hills. 3 hours later, with 70 pairs of hands and countless selfies and wefies, the flowering plants bought from Cameron Highlands were planted. It brings together 100 Malay, Chinese and Indian children from 14 rural schools for a day of fun and games whilst learning English. "Fun With English".The 6th One Malaysia English Language Camp for 100 rural school children from 12 schools was held in Temoh, a small town on the way to Tapah from Kampar. It was fun and games for children and facilitators. These camps started in early 2014 with modules developed under the guidance of IWC Ipoh East member, Rajeswary Nagalingam, a retired lecturer and teacher trainer. Click to view photos.

"Happy Kids", a service project for happy futures.Students wrote about their love towards their family during one of the Happy Kids Programme in SK Methodist, Sg Siput North. For an hour from 7:30 am, almost every Friday for more than a year, a few dedicated members of IWC Ipoh East lent their time in programmes which have been customised to teach the children to be responsible in a fun and interactive way. "Highly Immersive English Programme", a community partner with the Malaysian Ministry of Education.30th June 2016, IWCIE was invited by Kinta Utara District Education Office to take part (as a community partner) in the Highly Immersive English Programme which is now being piloted in 300 schools across the country to improve proficiency in English. IWCIE members, Rajes & Rama, gave a briefing on two of the club's projects 'One Malaysia English Language Camps' and 'Happy Kids' programme to 10 school principals, language and co-curricular heads and parent-teacher representatives at Cator Avenue Primary school. On 27th August IWCIE, working with the Kinta Utara District Education Office, carried out the first HIP for sixty Year 1 and 2 pupils from SK Tanah Hitam.
