18 May 2020. Inner Wheel Club of Alor Setar, Kedah. Stepping up to help medical frontliners.

Responding to a call for donations to buy the much needed equipment for medical front-liners, Inner Wheel Club of Alor Setar, Kedah, quickly got into action. Members and one member of the public (through the Club) donated to this worthy cause to help the Kota Setar District Health Clinic to purchase masks, disposable aprons, nitrile gloves, head covers and isolation gowns. 30 Apr 2020. District 330. Survey on virtual meeting experience using Zoom video conferencing software for District 330 Committee Meeting

On 18 Mar 2020, the Malaysian government implemented a nationwide “Movement Control Order” prohibiting mass gatherings as preventive measures to mitigate the coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) pandemic. This impacted on Inner Wheel Club and District meetings. An online meeting was proposed and after a few trials, it was successfully held on 30 March 2020. 17 Apr 2020. Inner Wheel Club of Kuala Lumpur North. Joining hands to help in provisions for the poor during COVID-19.

Inner Wheel Club of Kuala Lumpur North partnered with Mr Ganeson, a food stall owner in Selayang Baru, Kuala Lumpur to help the underprivileged during COVID-19. The Club donated dry provisions and fresh groceries while Mr Ganesan cooks and packs with the help of other volunteers. Daily, as many as 450 people will come to Mr Ganeson to collect. 800 packs were also distributed to Taman Intan Baiduri, Prima Selayang, Segambut and Kepong. Click here to view the video.

7 Apr 2020. Inner Wheel Club of Taiping. Feeding the needy under COVID-19 isolation.

Essential food items were donated to 25 needy families in the District of Larut Matang and Selama. Many are confined in isolation due to COVID-19, financially down, disabled, old, frail and far from supporting family members. Click here to view writeup and photos.

5 Apr 2020. Inner Wheel Club of Penang. Activities in times of MCO.

The Movement Control Order (MCO) due to Covid-19 in Malaysia forced us in principle to stop all outdoor activities in order to prevent spreading of the virus. Nonetheless, we could accomplish some very valuable services to society. Click to read more and view photos.

25 Mar 2020. Inner Wheel Club of Taiping. Gesture of gratitude to Covid-19 frontliners.

Club President Vijayalaxmi Kandasamy delivered dinner to 18 staff members on duty at the Klinik Kesihatan Tupai on 25 Mar 2020 as a gesture of gratitude. 24 Mar 2020. Inner Wheel Club of Petaling Jaya. Reaching out to refugees in dire need during COVID-19 pandemic.

There are over 170,000 refugees and asylum-seekers registered with UNHCR in Malaysia. Almost 50,000 are children below 18 years old. The COVID-19 pandemic has caused job losses throughout the country. It has been exceptionally hard on this group. Club members rallied and gave cash donations to refugees living in the Gombak area for food and essentials. Click here to view photos.

5 Mar 2020. Inner Wheel Club of Taiping. Cheque presentation to Sekolah Semangat Maju.

After the monthly club general meeting, members headed to Sekolah Semangat Maju (SSM). Club President Vijayalaxmi Kandasamy presented a cheque of RM10,000.00 to Mr Joseph Lau Tee See, Board Chairman of SSM. Also present were the Principal, Board Treasurer and two staff members. 23 Feb 2020. National Representative. Roundup of IIW President Phyllis' visit to Malaysia

IIW President Phyllis arrived in Kuala Lumpur on 17 Jan 2019 on her official visit to Malaysia. She was feted by 22 clubs in the district. The highlight was the celebration of World Inner Day in Taiping on the 18 Jan. There was warm fellowship at luncheons and dinners where she was the guest of honour. President Phyllis participated in several projects for women, children and green living. The road trip north to Taiping and back to Kuala Lumpur over the 7 days was a spread of scenic, iconic and historical sights. Click here for the stories, photos and videos.

20 Feb 2020. Inner Wheel Club of Taiping. Second general meeting.

The second general meeting of the Inner Wheel Club of Taiping was held on 5 Feb 2020 at The New Club at 5:30 pm. 4 Feb 2020. Inner Wheel Club of Kuala Lumpur. Chinese New Year Fellowship Lunch and Project.

Every year, when the Chinese members of the Inner Wheel Club of Kuala Lumpur celebrate their Lunar New Year or Spring Festival, they will host a lunch for all their non-Chinese members. This year, a wonderful lunch was hosted by Datin Linda Koay to all the members. A total of 70 people were invited to the lunch, held in a very nice Chinese Restaurant called China Treasure on 4th February which falls on the 11th day of the Chinese New Year celebration. 3 Feb 2020. Inner Wheel Club of Penang. Joblink.

On the 3rd February 2020 the Inner Wheel Club of Penang paid the Joblink Centre in Penang another visit. That is a nongovernmental society for the aid to the handicapped, which we have been supporting for years. This time we presented them with a cheque and some cash of in total RM 900 and we hosted a KFC lunch for the young adults. We also gave an Ang Pow to the individuals to add some cheer. The Inner Wheel Club of Petaling Jaya organised a Green Project at Taman Tugu Forest Park, Kuala Lumpur on 21 Jan 2020. Inner Wheel Club of Taiping organised World Inner Wheel Day for District 330 on 18th Jan 2020 at Grand Baron Hotel, Taiping, Perak. The event was to celebrate the first Inner Wheel  Club meeting held in 1924 and to raise funds for Sekolah Semangat Maju (SSM), a school for mentally challenged children. 16 Jan 2020. Inner Wheel Club of Intan, Kuala Lumpur celebrates Chinese New Year with a feast!

The young ladies of IWC Intan, Kuala Lumpur, got together for a belated Chinese New Year fellowship and lunch meeting. Held at the pool lounge at the condo of acting secretary Sarah and club correspondent Natasha, each member brought food and drink, from pizza, to parma ham, to vodka and cointreau watermelon. Plans for the upcoming year were discussed, as well as the induction of a new member, Jet Ying at the next meeting. Click to view photo.

IWC Klang participated in the "Mudball Fight 2020" organised by Kelab Warisan Sungai Klang held at Kota Bridge, Klang to raise environmental awareness in preserving the health and quality of our rivers. 23 Dec 2019. Inner Wheel Club Pearl of the Orient. Games and Meal Treat for Rohinya children.

On 23 Dec 2019, as the last project for the year 2019, IWC Pearl of the Orient, jointly with Hee Hee Ha Ha Charity, hosted a fun party for Rohinya Children at McDonald's in Greenlane on Penang Island. We also provided some groceries to ten families. The children had a great time having their McD meals and games hosted by McDonald's. Click to view photos.

19 December 2019. Inner Wheel Club of Kuala Lumpur. Food Bank for the urban poor.

In our modern society, there are urban communities with pockets of marginalised poor. Their earnings are far below the minimum wage. Everyday is a struggle to bring food to the table. A Food Bank team gathers at Lembah Subang Projek Perumahan Rakyat Dewan C every Thursday to distribute food to about 114 families. IWC Kuala Lumpur sponsored food and provisions, and joined the team on 19 Dec 2019. It was so good that another has been planned. Click here to view the writeup and photos. 11 December 2019. District 330. A night to felicitate: a night to celebrate

The evening of 11.11.2019 saw a gathering of effervescent ladies of various Inner Wheel Clubs of District 330 at the Royal Lake Club in Kuala Lumpur. The occasion was to celebrate the lady we all know and love, Datin Pearl Jai Mohan and her remarkable achievement of being awarded the prestigious Margarette Golding Award 2019. Datin Pearl is only the third Malaysian to win this award, following the illustrious footsteps of To’ Puan Lam Leepin and  Dato’ Dr Majumdar, a Rotarian. Click here to read more and view photos.

20 November 2019. Inner Wheel Club of Kuantan/Indera Mahkota. International Children's Day.

In conjunction with the International Children's Day, members of the IWC Kuantan / Indera Mahkota visited the children's ward of Tengku Ampuan Afzan Hospital on 20/11/19. Six IWC members led by President Vijaya Nair carried out this project on a bright wednesday afternoon. We spent time with the children and distributed goody bags to the your patients. There were packed drinks, biscuits,face towel and stationeries in the goody bags. It brought some cheer to the little ones. Time well spent. Click here to view photos.

18 November 2019. Inner Wheel Club of Kuala Lumpur. Infant Jesus Convent Project.

Holy Infant Jesus Convent is a convent for about 25 retired Christian nuns aged between 60-90 years old. These retired sisters had dedicated their lives to educating the minds of Malaysian youth all over Malaysia. On 17 November, IWC Pearl of the Orient, Penang and friends were happy to join hands with Hee Hee Ha Ha Charity Group to donate 18 sets of school uniforms, shoes and stationeries vouchers to 18 children during World Day of the Poor fellowship organised by St Vincent De Paul at Immaculate Church in Penang. 17 November 2019. Inner Wheel Club of Penang. Visit to Jireh's Home

On Sunday 13 October and Sunday 17 November 2019 we visited Jireh's Home in Kulim. This is a Christian old folks home for woman run by the pastors Rebecca and David. The age group is 86 to 31 years and most of them are mentally challenged. The first visit was mainly to enquire about the needs of that home. On the second visit we offered them RM1500 to cover the costs for some new clothing, especially underwear for the ladies. Both afternoons were filled with laughter and fun for the 18 ladies and us. 7 November 2019. Inner Wheel Club of Kuala Lumpur. Bra Drive Project

What do you do with your old bras? Do you know less than 15% of women ever recycle or donate their bras? Thus, giving textiles one of the poorest recycling rate of any reusable materials. Materials in bras takes 50 years to degrade, recycling them is equivalent to removing 250,000 cars from Malaysian's highway! Click here to view writeup and photos.

19 October 2019. IWC Ipoh East. Aid to Madam Kamala and Selvi.

Madam Kamala, 84 years old and bedridden, and her daughter Madam Selvi, 56 years old, are both facing health problems and were struggling to buy basic necessities such as adult diapers. They requested for help from IWC Ipoh East. Members visited them and discussed on ways to help them. Among the items in need that were donated were adult diapers. Click to view photos.

19 October 2019. IWC Intan, Kuala Lumpur. A spooky Halloween fundraiser filled with fellowship, food and music.

Halloween came early for the ladies of IWC Intan, as they hosted 'Nightmare on Kiara', a Halloween-themed fundraiser helmed by organising Chairman and Club Correspondent Natasha Pack. Guests were treated to food, drink, live music, a lucky draw, and games. Two IWC members, secretary Mabel Ho and Clarissa Tong also provided makeup and caricature services. Lucky draw prizes were sponsored by the members and also the venue, Kanteen's Coffee Bar. The grand prize was a 3D2N stay in Cameron Highlands, sponsored by PP Tung Yan Ning. The Nightmare King and Queen - i.e Best Dressed - contest saw many guests put on their best scary outfits, with a Chinese vampire and a female Joker reigning supreme. Click to view photos.

The ladies of IWC Intan hosted DC Padmini Menon and 2015-2016 DC Ambika Menon for a lovely lunch at Kanteen's Coffee Bar in Mont Kiara for the DC's Official Visit. As District 330's new generation club, the members presented their plans for the coming year, and received advice from the DC on how best to carry out the theme of 'Together We Can'. 9 October 2019. IWC Ipoh East. Inner Wheel Club comes to aid a single mother.

Madam Kolan De Meri, a single mother who is taking care of her four grandchildren, sought help from IWC Ipoh East as she was struggling to make ends meet. President Prema, along with Honorary Treasurer Sarala and Vice-President Jaya Ranjitham visited her with provisions for Deepavali. It was a morning well spent cooking lunch and dinner for the old folks at Rumah Orang Tua GPPTK, Jalan Bukit Ubi, Kuantan. 3 August 2019. IWC Petaling Jaya. Installation.

IWC PJ installation of President Nirmala Koshy was held on the first Saturday of August 2019 at the Tropicana Club Resort. Blue Elegance was the theme. Indeed it was a sea of blue flowing silks adorned by the members and guests that added gaiety and beauty to the evening. Past President Renu installed the new President for 2019-2020 after which President Nirmala installed her committee. In her speech, the President has vowed to carry on all the on-going projects for the community and to start a few projects on the Environment. 6 Jul 2019. IWC Intan, Kuala Lumpur. Intan celebrates the installation of the new committee with Shanghai Nights.

In a throwback to the glamourous days of 1920's Shanghai, the young ladies of the Innerwheel Club of Intan, Kuala Lumpur, celebrated the installation of the new committee with style. Guests were treated to tea, while being serenaded with Chinese classics, and Cantonese opera. Click to view photo.
