It has a two-tier health care system consisting of both a government based national healthcare that is accorded to the patients at no or minimal cost and a co-existing private healthcare system. On 8 June 2022, 18 members from the Inner Wheel Club of Kuala Lumpur (IWCKL) descended on Rumah Amal Cahaya Tengku Ampuan Rahimah (RACTAR) to donate a 7-drawer freezer for their Bakery Project. The webinar was attended by a small group of 22 members and friends, who left the webinar with so much more knowledge on what constitutes sexual harassment which is so prevalent in society nowadays. 11 May 2022. Inner Wheel Club of Taiping. Brunch is always a good idea. IWC of Taiping sponsored a brunch recently for 85 students and staff of Sekolah Semangat Maju (SSM) Taiping on 11th May 2022. SSM is a school established in 1992 by volunteers of Perak Association for Intellectually Challenged Children. Members of IWC Taiping have been helping out at this school since 1995. For the Inner Wheel Club of Kuala Lumpur Hari Raya Project, the members made a beeline for ‘Rumah Kita’ ,a non-governmental organisation (NGO) located in the city. Members of IWC AS had the pleasure of witnessing such a scene when 10 children of the Chung Hwa Primary School in Jitra, Kedah, were each presented with a brand new school bag containing essential school items as well as an 'ang pow' on 17 March 2022. 5 Mar 2022. Inner Wheel Club of Butterworth. Preloved clothes for marginalised refugees. The Inner Wheel Club of Butterworth recently, donated preloved ethnic clothes such as sarees and Punjabi suits to Greater Action (GA) at its centre in Bandar Baru, Ampang, Kuala Lumpur. 20 Feb 2022. Inner Wheel Club of Klang. Medical camp and cancer screening. The Inner Wheel Club of Klang in collaboration with Hospital Tengku Ampuan Rahimah and the National Cancer Society of Malaysia, organized a Medical Camp with Cancer Screening for underprivileged women and girls for free. 12 Feb 2022. Inner Wheel Club of Johor Bahru. Mangrove planting. On the 12th February 2022, the Inner Club of Johor Bahru embarked on yet another fruitful project. This time it was about saving the environment. The idea started when the club participated in and won the ‘Go Green’ project in 2019-2020. 23 Jan 2022. Inner Wheel Club of Taiping. Wheel Can Cerv by IWC Taiping. Cervical Cancer cases form the 3rd highest number recorded among the types of cancer in Malaysia. In heeding the call by IIW President Ebe Martines, IWC of Taiping President, Karamjeet Kaur spearheaded this project to provide free pap smear screening to 30 ladies from the lower-income group followed by a talk on Cervical Cancer Awareness. Members of the Inner Wheel Club of Klang (IWC Klang) on 18th Jan did their utmost for the flood victims at Taman Alam in Bukit Kemuning with their contributions. The Inner Wheel Club Singapore West, District 331, generously joined hands with IWC Klang by donating RM8,000 and with members contributions, the collection totalled RM11,000 for the project. 15 Jan 2022. Inner Wheel Club of Ipoh. Meeting and induction of 3 new members. Inner Wheel Club of Ipoh’s 6th monthly meeting for the term 2021-2022 and the first meeting of the year 2022 was held on Saturday, 15th January 2022 at Datin Gnana's residence at 2.30pm. On the same day, three new members were inducted into the club so the total number of members has risen from 15 to 18 ladies with the addition of Ms.Komathi, Ms.Anne and Ms.Angelene. 2 Jan 2022. Inner Wheel Club of Subang Selangor. Flood relief (Dengkil). It was heart breaking for Malaysians including members of the Inner Wheel Club of Subang Selangor (IWC SS) to see the devastation that hit their state as a result of the non-stop heavy showers for 3 days. The water level rose to the roof of the first storey of most homes in Taman Sri Muda and Shah Alam areas. Homes there lost most of their belongings and some even lost their loved ones. 1 Jan 2022. Inner Wheel Club of Subang Selangor. Gift for Mythili's son. IWCSS success story in empowering women, was in October 2021, by giving housewife Mythili the opportunity to start her own business by setting up a stall selling breakfast items. She soon was earning a tidy sum each day that helped her to pay her outstanding utilities bills. The club provided the seed money and she is now running her business that gives her a daily income. 30 Dec 2021. Inner Wheel Club of Alor Setar joins efforts to help flood victims. It had been raining incessantly for several days and on 18 December 2021, many parts of Malaysia went under water. Scores of people in affected areas had to be transported by boat to temporary flood relief centres with nothing but the clothes on their backs. The swollen rivers led to unprecedented flooding and in many homes, shops and offices, water rose to above 10 feet, devasting everything in its raging fury. Read more and view photos. |

22 Dec 2021. Inner Wheel Club of Kuala Lumpur North. Aid for Jackson. The Inner Wheel Club of Kuala Lumpur North (IWC KL North) gave assistance to Jackson, who was diagnosed with bone cancer while still a teenager. His cancer was thought to be in remission but suddenly a couple of years on, his condition has relapsed. Jackson had undergone several surgeries and eventually, had his left leg amputated due to the illness. He is now unable to work as he has lost his only source of income as a Grab driver. Read more. |

Mythili, a homemaker was finding it difficult to manage her budget and had unpaid utility bills and needed some assistance to clear them. People who have run out of supplies were urged to put up white flags outside their homes. Members were alerted that the Myanmar refugees had raised the flag and quickly swung into action. 11 Jul 2021. Inner Wheel Club of Bangsar. Food donation drive for 15 distraught families. During the Enhanced Movement Control Order (EMCO) imposed in the Klang Valley due to the raging pandemic, the Inner Wheel Club of Bangsar came to the assistance of the needy and financially supported 15 distraught families, comprising foreigners from Pakistan, India, and Indonesia, as well as Malaysians, in the vicinity of Kuala Lumpur, Klang and Subang. Sunday 11 July 2021 was truly special as most Club Correspondents (CCs) had the opportunity to meet each other, albeit virtually. District Webmaster Lucy Barrock and District Editor Padmini Pillai organised a webinar for Club Correspondents. Ever since the start of the COVID-19 pandemic and the frequent Movement Control Orders, most ladies seemed to have developed a disconnect with their daily MAKE-UP routines as the realisation set in that whatever they did to beautify themselves, ended up being covered by a face-mask. 1 Jul 2021. Inner Wheel Club of Subang Selangor. Assistance for medical students in quarantine. It was brought to the attention of the Inner Wheel Club of Subang Selangor through one of its members, Rema Menon, a lecturer at Universiti Malaya, that there were students in quarantine in one of the residential colleges. These consisted of medical students doing their clinical years and amongst them, two of the students had contracted COVID-19. Read more and view photos. |
